Little Mix Knock Sam And The Womp’s ‘Bom Bom’ Off Number One Spot

Band look to end their current chart reign

Sam and the Womp may have topped last weekend’s UK number one spot with their debut single ‘Bom Bom’ but it looks like their reign will be short lived.

The British big band landed one of the year’s fastest selling singles on Sunday (August 26), ranking alongside the likes of DJ Fresh , Rita Ora, Wiley and Cheryl Cole as selling over 100,000 singles in the first week.

Frontman Sam Ritchie told “We really didn’t expect this at all for Bom Bom to go all the way to the top when we were writing it in a muddy field a couple of years ago, with Mr Aaron Audio falling off his chair! “

However Sam and the Womp have fallen to number two this weekend as X Factor winner’sLittle Mix release their debut single ‘Wings’.

Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City scored the second highest new entry of the weekend with their team-up ‘Good Time’.

The X Factor 2012 contestant Lucy Spraggan scored her first charting hit at number four with ‘Last Night’, while Rita Ora’s former chart topper ‘Party & BS (How We Do)’ drops to number five.
