Nicki Minaj Gives Star Performance In New York With Drake And Lil Wayne

Nicki MinajNicki Minaj truly gave her huge fan-base a performance to remember with a two hour set at New York’s Roseland Ballroom on Tuesday (August 13th 2012).

After the ‘Pound the Alarm’ singer was pulled from her Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert by her record label manager Lil Wayne, she assured her fans that she would compensate for it with a much more fantastic show – and she didn’t disappoint! The Young Money rapper was streamed live online and broadcast on a screen in NY’s Times Square performing an energetic set that kicked off with tracks ‘Roman’s Revenge’ and ‘Did It on ‘Em’ alongside her troupe of vibrant dancers. Her Summer Jam gig was cancelled after she complained to Lil Wayne that one of the radio DJs involved was negative towards her single ‘Starships’. She certainly made her feelings clear in her Tuesday night show when she explained that she wasn’t there to be judged by anyone. ‘I just want my fans here, ’cause I don’t want people to come and observe me,’ she told her audience. ‘If you didn’t come here to have a good time, go home!’

Her show got even more exciting when she brought out various guests including Foxy Brown, Drakeand Lil Wayne himself. She described Foxy as the person ‘who has influenced me the most out of every female in the rap game’ before Foxy performed two tracks, ‘Oh Yeah’ and ‘Tables Will Turn’. Drake’s appearance seemed to lift Minaj’s mood even more as she teased him as being ‘the worst kind’ of guy before she launched into the feel-good track ‘Make Me Proud’. As for Lil Wayne, he couldn’t have been more appreciative of the young female star insisting that he is ‘very proud’ of her. Seeing as so much love was in the air that night, Minaj gave a little shout out to country beautyTaylor Swift who recently shared Minaj’s track ‘Super Bass’ with her fans causing it to soar in popularity.
