The Lukins win Battle of The Bands 2011

[break]The pub has hosted the event, which lasted for 11 nights over five months, and saw 24 acts narrowed down to just four.[break]

[break]The competition was organised by Alive Music Studios. Its studio co-ordinator, Adam Leslie, said: “The bands, Swansong, First Requiem, Red on You and The Lukins had all played twice before in their respective heats and semi-finals, fighting off some extremely talented bands and artists to progress to the final.[break]

[break]”It was certainly an evening to remember, with each act putting every ounce of energy they had into their performance.[break]

[break]”It was The Lukins from Plymouth who took the title and first prize of £200 cash and an EP recording at Alive Music studios with Swansong coming close runners-up.[break]

[break]”Alive Music would like to thank all the artists and everyone who has been involved in the Battle of the Bands, and also the members of local community for their support over the last few months.[break]

[break]The Lukins’ drummer, Mike Mineur, said: “Sally, Scott, Simon and I are absolutely stoked at winning the competition and feel honoured to have been involved in this competition.”[break]
