Alive Music Studios got together with the Okehampton Battle of the Bands for the first time this year and donated an EP recording package and photo shoot prize to the Okehampton BotB Winners.

Speaking on the behalf of Alive Music, Dan said ” it is great to be able to work with this established battle of the bands and to be able to be involved with bands from throughout the South West.

During the 2012 Okehampton Battle of the Bands season 16 great bands from across Devon and Cornwall entertained audiences at the preliminary heats with 4 bands playing at The Party in the Park final in front of an audience of 1000 plus. It was a closely fought battle between punk pirates, Pirate Copy, indie based Dirty Dusk, indie/rock hybrids The Aurora Skies and sleaze rockers Badland Bandits leaving the judges with some tough decisions but………

………… taking a slug of Guns and Roses from the “Appetite heyday”, throwing in a decent slug of Motley Crew, adding a liberal sprinkling of Jack Daniels and then throwing in a fantastic vocal range, top showmanship and a set tighter than a snare drum then you have the Badland Bandits who emerged victorious as the Okehampton Battle of the Bands winners.

Badland Bandits will be recording at Alive Music soon and can be found onhttp://www.reverbnation.com/badlandbandits

Chris Hodgson of the Okehampton Battle of the Bands said that “it was great to be able to work with Alive Music and to be able to promote live music for local bands” Okehampton Battle of the Bands will be back in 2013 and Alive Music will be part of it again.
