2014 – Battle of The DJs

BATTLE OF THE DJs 2014 (ENDED)

VENUE: SWAN HOTEL, WADEBRIDGE

Welcome to the first of many Alive Music Battle of The DJs annual competitions. This is a proper organized professional event, with qualified judges and great prizes. This event is in partnership with the Swan Hotel, Wadebridge.

The competition will have 3 heats, 1 winner per heat and 1 final with 1 overall winner, who will take home and £500 cash prize and also get a Free of Charge professional recording of a demo CD with full color inlay and artwork, courtesy of the Alive Music Studios plus 4 free 1 hour DJ practise sessions in the Alive Music studio BAR club.

Below are the heat allocations. Heats start at 9pm and finish at 12am. The below times are a guideline only as we allow 15 minutes for change overs of the DJs, however if once you are ready to go and the MC has introduced, you can start your sets.

HEAT 1 – SATURDAY 1ST MARCH

You will be judge on the following:

• Promptness & Attendance
• Fan promotion
• Presentation
• Audience interaction
• Setup and sound check
• Song choice
• Song mixing
• Mixology
• Scratching ability (if any)
• Quality of sampling

And anything else we can think of….

EQUIPMENT:

• There will be a full managed PA system and lights
• 2 x CDJ 800s and Pioneer Mixer
• Laptop DJs: Must bring own laptop and controller
• Vinyl DJs: Must bring own turntables and vinyl records
